She did her Master in intercultural theology at the same university. Th e congregation of the Sisters of Charity in Batakland, is an autonomous branch of the Dutch Sisters of Charity of Schijndel, who came to Batakland in 1928. Th e French Saint Vincent de Paul (1581-1660) is the main source of the spirituality of the Sisters of Charity of Schijndel, a congregation founded by the diocesan priest Antoon van Erp in 1836 in Schijndel. De Paul’s spirituality was rooted in the context of his time,s ince it was centred around the love of Jesus for the poor.
