Atkins-The Hague: Nijhoff, 1995 (XXI, 449 pages) This book is based on a number of papers presented at the Second Biennial Alleged Transna- tional Criminal Seminar of the International Bar Association, held in May 1993, Madrid, Spain. It is widely known that the International Bar Association has earned its reputation as a truly international organization, and provides a particularly valuable forum for practitioners from different jurisdictions to meet and discuss legal developments of mutual concern. It is therefore logical that some of he essays are written from a lawyer's point of view, so as to provide valuable guidance for those working in the transnational and criminal law fields. In some ways, this practical focus is one of the most interesting and illuminating aspects of the book. The organizers of the Seminar, as is explained in the Introduction, felt that the 'cutting edge' of transnational crime developments needed to be addressed by practitioners who were directly involved with some important emerging issues.
