Hathaway, The Rights of Refugees under International Law , Cambridge University Press (2005), ISBN 0521542634 This long awaited book from Jim Hathaway is the fruit of an immense task begun more than a decade ago at the instigation of the late Professor Atle Grahl-Madsen. The express aim of the work, as indicated in the introduction, is to give renewed life to a too-long neglected source of vital, internationally agreed human rights for refugees, anchored in legal obligation. These rights are to be respected for the dura- tion limited by the persistence of risk in the refugee’s state of origin.
