21st CSO Meeting in April CSCE DOCUMENTS 21st CSO Meeting in April From 26 to 28 April 1993, the 21st meeting of the Committee of Senior Officials took place in Prague. At this cso meeting, a great number of topics were discussed, including the conflicts in former Yugoslavia and in parts of the former Soviet Union. Excerpts from the journals of this 3 days' cso meeting follow below. The texts in italics have been added as explanatory remarks by the editors of the present journal. Request of Macedonia for admission as CSCE participating state. 7his agenda item has been discussed at several occasions already. The major progress achieved now was the decision to admit Macedonia (under the official name 'Former Yugoslav Republic ofMacedonia' or 'F*M as an observer state. The text of the decision reads as follows: "It was agreed to grant observer status in the CSCE process to the State whose application is contained in cscE Communication No. 120 of 22 April 1993 (see Annex 1). The observer State will provisionally be referred to for all purposes within the cscE as "the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" pending settlement of the difference which has arisen over the name of that State.
