Th e International Criminal Court (ICC), from the time of its theoretical and ideological elaboration in the aftermath of the Second World War to the drafting, adoption and entry into force of its founding Statute has generated a wide array of scholarly analyses and legal commentaries. Bassiouni’s Statute of the International Criminal Court: A Documentary History, 5 Cassese, Gaeta and Jones’ Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court: A Commentary 6 or Schabas’ Introduction to the International Criminal Court 7 are but a few examples of the academic litera- ture on the topic. Far from being merely quantitatively impressive, this literature also shines by its excellent quality and it seems fair to assert that Laucci’s Code annoté de la Cour pénale internationale 2004-2006 by no means breaks with this tradition. And indeed, Laucci’s Code annoté constitutes a long-waited for addition to the existing literature. Th e reason is not purely linguistic, although it is interesting to note that Laucci’s work is available in both English http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png International Criminal Law Review Brill
