482 Declaration of the Fourth Copenhagen Conference on Human Rights The Fourth Copenhagen Conference on Human Rights, 28 and 29 October, 1988, meeting in Copenhagen on the invitation of Hermod Lannung as chair- man of the Task Force on Human Rights of WAWF and of the Danish Center of Human Rights: Celebrates the fortieth Anniversary of the United Nations Universal Declara- tion of Human Rights and the thirty-fifth Anniversary of the entry into force of the European Convention on Human Rights - and the important progress in Human Rights standards achieved in Western Europe on the basis of these two international instruments. Confirms - that all human rights and fundamental freedoms are indivisible and interdependent, and that equal attention and urgent consideration should be given to the implementation, promotion and protection of both civil and politi- cal, and economic, social and cultural rights. - that the United Nations, by the elaboration of the International Bill of Rights (the Universal Declaration, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights) and many other instruments on human rights, has succeeded in setting stan- dards which should be respected by all states.
