Pakistan 105 Pakistan Notification of Straight Baselines Pakistan announced the delimitation of straight baselines along its entire coast on 29 August 1996.The system is defined by 10 points; their co-ordinates are defined to the nearest 5" of latitude and the nearest 1" of longitude. The brief notification does not define the datum to which the co-ordinates are related and does not specify the type of line that joins the points. The 10 points are identified by letters from (a) to (k), omitting the letter (j). In this analysis and on the attached map capital letters are used to identify the points. The charts on which this analysis is based are British Admiralty (BA) 38 and 38 published in 1980 and 1976 respectively. BA chart 38 is drawn at a scale of 1:750,000 and BA chart 39 at 1:500,000. Point A is located in 11 fathoms of sea in the mouth of Gwatar Bay (Khalij-e Gavater). This bay is shared by Iran and Pakistan. The land boundary between them commences near the head of the bay about 3 nautical miles (n.m.) west of the mouth of the Dasht Kaur which has its whole course in Pakistan. This boundary was agreed http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png The International Journal of Marine and Coastal Law Brill
