Greetings

Greetings Greetings This is the first issue of International Negotiation: A Journal of Theory and Practice. With international processes, structures and systems changing quickly and negotiation and mediation becoming increasingly prominent, we envision this new journal as filling a vital niche for both researchers and practitioners. The growing body of theory and knowledge on international negotiation and mediation needs to be shared with the research community and trans- mitted effectively to practitioners who can integrate it into their repertoire of activities. The journal will be an outlet for original research on internation- al negotiation and mediation, the exposition of new conceptual frameworks, and the presentation of synthetic reviews and case studies emanating from the research community. In parallel, as strides are made in the application of nego- tiation and mediation, it is important to document the lessons learned; hence, the journal will be a vehicle for the thoughtful presentation and analysis of rich negotiation experiences offered by diplomats and practical negotiators. We believe that these goals can best be served by structuring the journal as one would organize a focused study panel or working group. By highlighting a particular theme, varied perspectives on a problem can be presented, alternate http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png International Negotiation Brill
