Spirituality is an almost undefinable word. Everyone claims that spirituality is needed, but few agree on what it is. Some pastors charge that the church members are not spiritual while laymen judge that leadership lacks it. Students claim that the school is not spiritual and administrators perceive students as , spiritually immature. Everyone needs it... whatever it is. ' A Dictionary of Christian Spirituality will not solve this problem, but it should help to clarify the terms of the discussion. The work features perceptive articles on individuals, cultures, religious traditions, theological terms, and devotional practices. It is a unique work essential to the reference section of a theological library, but even this dictionary has difficulty with the subject.
