Although Pentecostal theology has thrived over the past few years, a pressing matter still remains: Scarce few Pentecostals have engaged in “theology proper,” i.e., the doctrine of God and all that such activity entails, including divine attribution. In this regard, I am very pleased to commend Gabriel’s work, for it helps fijill a void. The problem (one that I have detected in my own endeavoring, a sign perhaps that indi- cates what Pentecostals see as requiring attention within theology proper) is that divine attribution has generally not been pursued in a thoroughly trinitarian way; in other words, theologians usually, despite coming through the so-called century of trinitarian revival, con- tinue with the convention of moving from De Deo Uno to De Deo Trino , with the former being the natural and intuitive location for divine attribution to be pursued. With such a pattern in place, one cannot help but sense that divine attribution is independent of the claim that God is triune. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Pneuma Brill
