To mark the occasion, Mr. Frank's associates organized a public farewell ceremony during which four of the group's most prominent authors gave the audience the benefit of their re- flections on future developments in their own fields of science. The texts of their speeches appeared in print under the title Toekomstbespiegelingen bfj een afscheid (Amsterdam, North- Holland Publishing Company, 1972, privately printed). The speeches were made by C. J. F. Bottcher of the University of Leiden, president of the Dutch Government Advisory Board on Science Policy; L. Rosenfeld of the Nordisk Institut for Teoretisk Atoxnfysik, Copenhagen, editor of Nuclear Physics; J. Tinbergen of the Economic Academy of Rotterdam, recipient of the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1970, and G. Zouten- dijk of the University of Leiden, director of the Central Computing Institute.
