Notes and news LE LIVRE ET L'ESTAMPE Our sister magazine Lc lit,rc et 1'estaiiil)c recently entered upon its sixteenth year (1970) with the double publication of Nos. 63-64. This quarterly journal is the organ of the 'Société des biblio- philes et iconophiles de Belgique', best known for the exhibitions of members' acquisitions held regularly in the Royal Library at Brussels. From its founding in I954 the journal was run by the late lamented Paul van der Perre, to whom an 'in mcmoriam' was devoted in Quaerendo I, 3. During the fifteen years of its existence Le livre et I'estampe has developed into one of the best bibliophile publications available, through its printing of a large number of important bibliographical articles, particularly on French and Belgian authors and graphic artists. It has also devoted considerable attention to auctions of books and prints in Belgium, France, and other countries. The double issue which has now come out is intended as a mark of homage to the late editor Paul van der Perre, whose great services are recalled by the president, Charles Vander Elst.
