Ein Beitrag zur Frage nach dem ursprünglichen Schluss des chronistischen Geschichtswerkes (For- schungen zur Religion und Literatur des Alten und Neuen Testaments 104), Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht, Göttingen 1970, 164 pp. (This excellent study on 3 Esdras deals with the relation between this apocryphon and the canonical books 1 Esdras and Nehemiah.3 Esdras should be considered as a fragment from an old Greek translation which originally included the story of the restoration of the temple in the same order as 1 Esdras 1-6, not as a compila- tion from the canonical books. The story of the Three Pages is an inter- polation originally written in Greek which caused some adaptations in the text of 3 Esdras.
