Es gibt vor allem einen Ruckblick auf das Handeln Gottes fur sein und an seinem Volk von Abraham an. Dadurch erinnert es an das "Testa- ment" 1) des Josua in 23, 4-11; beide ber3hren sich verstdndlicher- weise in der Aufreihung der bedeutenden Ereignisse, dagegen nur gelegentlich in der Ausfiihrung 2) ; insgesamt ist bemerkenswert, wie verschieden Darstellung und Akzentuierung im einzelnen sind. Der breiteste Raum wird in 32, 1-10 der Opferung Isaaks (§ 2-4) und dem Sinaigeschehen (§ 7f.) gewidmet; Abraham und Mose 3) sind die entscheidenden Gestalten der Geschichte Gottes mit seinem Volk - das bestatigt sich auch sonst in ant. bibl. Abraham (so heif3t es in einer Voraussage vor seiner Geburt) ist der, der in der (h6chsten) Hohe wohnen soll (qui ponat habitationem super excelsa 4)), er wird vollkommen genannt werden und ohne Fehl 5), er wird Vater von Volkern sein (Gen. 17, 4.5), und der Bund mit ihm wird nicht aufgel6st werden, und seine Nachkommenschaft wird sich
