REVIEW OF BOOKS Alan J. A -P , Daniel H and Jacob N (eds.), When Judaism and Christianity Began: Essays in Memory of Anthony J. Saldarini (Supplements to the Journal for the Study of Judaism 85), 2 vols., Brill, Leiden and Boston 2004, xxii, 311 pp. and vii, 313-621 pp., cloth with dustjacket, € 169 / $ 211, ISBN 90 04 13659 2. A fi nal section, “Judaism and Christianity Today” speaks to his concern for the impact of scholarship on contemporary Jewish/Christian rela- tions and his repudiation of anti-Semitic interpretations of the New Testament. The section “Judaism and Christianity in the Beginning” continues Saldarini’s legacy, particularly his Matthew’s Christian-Jewish Community
