I am particularly pleased to edit Issue 16/2 of our European Journal of East Asian Studies. As you will read in the following introductive note, a first set of articles dealing with the study of regional and international migrations in Southeast Asia are guest edited by talented colleagues in Australia and Germany. As a matter of fact, earlier this year I had the opportunity to participate in the international seminar dealing with this subject at the University of Freiburg in southwestern Germany. I would like to thank the guest editors for this initiative, and the reader can take note that a second set of articles on this interesting subject will follow in Issue 17/1 of our journal. This issue is also a good opportunity to publish two individual articles. One covers non-traditional security issues related to conflict arbitration in the South China Sea. The other is a contribution on international business management dealing with an original survey of Korean tourists’ perception of Spain as a potential attractive destination.Apart from the presentation of the content of this issue, I would like to inform all future potential authors interested in our journal that Brill publishers have modified the format of EJEAS articles. Namely, all authors are now invited to add a short but meaningful bibliography at the end of their submissions. Guideline indications are mentioned in the cover pages of Issue 16/2.Best wishes for a stimulating consultation of the articles included in this issue!
