Prof. Dr. Werner Ende, for a long time co-editor and then a longstanding board member of the WI, has decided to leave the board. is journal owes very much to his untiring and extremely valuable advice, his meticulous and, at the same time, witty ways of dealing with incoming manuscripts, and his firm grasp of the expanding literature in so many relevant fields of Islamic Studies. We are very happy to welcome Dr. Rainer Brunner (Directeur de récherche, CNRS Paris) as Prof. Ende’s successor in the editorial board.
