NEW FINDS FROM THE PRE - SCYTHIAN PERIOD ON THE SHORES OF THE DNIESTER LIMAN (NORTH - WEST PONTIC REGION) IGOR V. BRUYAKO AND ANATOLII S. OSTROVERKHOV The Pre-Scythian period in the South of Eastern Europe is one of the most interesting and complex in the history of this region. Although it is the period when the Late Bronze and Early Iron Ages meet, surprisingly little light is shed on it by materials from archaeological sources. This applies in particular to the steppe zone in the North-West Pontic region, where sites of the pre- Scythian period are encountered extremely seldom. In the last few years within the fairly limited territory of the east bank of the Dniester liman (Odessa Region) a small typologically diverse collection of artefacts has been gathered together, which can be dated to the pre-Scythian period of the Early Iron Age.
