MISE AU POINT D'UN MODÈLE THÉORIQUE DE DYNAMIQUE DES POPULATIONS D'AUSTROPOTAMOBIUS PALLIPES APRÈS UN REPEUPLEMENT EN EAU COURANTE PAR E. FENOUIL Laboratoire de zoologie expérimentale, Avenue des Facultés, Université de Bordeaux I, F- 33405, Talence, Cedex, France et J. C. CHAIX B.B.M.C. (342), Avenue Escadrille Normandie Niemen, Faculté St Jérôme, F-13397, Marseille, Cedex 13, France SUMMARY A mathematical analysis is made of the dynamics of a population of Austropotamobius pallipes newly introduced in running water. The efficiency of seven kinds of introduction are tested: (1) young of the year (y.o.y.) two months old, (2) y.o.y. during 3 consecutive years, (3) adults, (4) adults in the first year, y.o.y. in the next year, (5) adults and two year old young, (6) in the first year adults and two year old young, the next year y.o.y., (7) in the first year adults, in the next three years y.o.y. The best technique appears to be to introduce adults before mating, or such adults and in addition two year old animals. It is possible to fish for legal size crayfishes (9 cm or longer in France) after eight years with an introduced population of y.o.y.; after three years in the case of
