220 A NEW RECORD OF ACANTHACARIS TENUIMANA BATE (DECAPODA, NEPHROPIDAE) FROM THE JAPANESE WATERS BY KEN-ICHI HAYASHI and YASUKI OGAWA Department of Aquaculture and Biology, Shimonoseki University of Fisheries, Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi, Japan Two specimens of the nephropid genus Acanthacaris collected from southwest of Kyushu, Japan were recently examined. They proved to belong to A. tenuimana Bate, which constitutes the first record for the Japanese fauna. The present paper presents short notes on these specimens, showing the range ex- tension and some morphological variations of this rare species.
