STENHELIA (DELAVALIA) STEPHENSONI SP. NOV. (COPEPODA, HARPACTICOIDA) FROM ESTUARINE WATERS OF PORT CURTIS, QUEENSLAND BY J. G. GREENWOOD and M. J. TUCKER Zoology Department, University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, 4067. INTRODUCTION AND METHODS During a study of zooplankton taken from waters in the Port Curtis region of the central Queensland coast (24° 51 ' S 151 ° 15' E), several specimens of two new Stenhelia species were collected. One of these species is represented by a single specimen and is not considered further at this stage, the other species is described below. The literature contains no previous reports of Stenhelia from Australian waters. Recent keys to species of the two subgenera Delaualia and Stenhelia have been given by Coull (1976) and Thistle & Coull (1979). The two subgenera are primarily differentiated by the number of segments in the first leg endopod, there being 3 in S. (Stenhelia) and 2 in S. (Delaaalia). The nomenclature used follows that of Coull (1976, 1977) as adapted from Lang (1948, 1965) and Gooding (1957). Prosome length was measured from the posterior margin of the rostrum to the posterodorsal border of the last metasomal segment; total length to the tip of the caudal
