LARVAE OF PARAPAGURUS DIOGENES (WHITELEGGE) AND SOME RELATED SPECIES (DECAPODA, ANOMURA) BY D. I. WILLIAMSON 1) and K. G. VON LEVETZOW 2) INTRODUCTION Early zoeal stages of Parapaguru.r diogene.r (Whitelegge) were obtained by the first author from a laboratory hatching in December 1962 and made it possible to ascribe two larvae from Western Australian plankton and some 70 larvae obtained by the second author from South African plankton to Parapagurus or a very closely related genus. A joint account of these larvae was in an advanced state of pre- paration when it was learned that a paper on larvae of Para?aguru.r by Mme. de Saint Laurent-Dechance was already complete. Preparation of the final draft t of the present paper was therefore delayed until after the publication of Mme. de Saint Laurent-Dechance's paper, to enable us to extend her observations without undue repetition. Parapagurus diogenes (Whitelegge) (fig. 1 a-m) A berried female, dredged in about 50 m of water off Port Hacking, New South Wales, Australia, on 18 December 1962, released larvae in the C.S.I.R.O.
