Short Notes On the taxonomic status of Hyla goinorum Bokermann, 1962 (Amphibia, Anura, Hylidae) Ignacio De la Riva Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, CSIC, C/ José Gutiérrez Abascal 2, 28006 Madrid, Spain e-mail: delariva@mncn.csic.es Bokermann (1962) described the small Amazonian hylid frog Hyla goinorum from Tarauacá, State of Acre, Brazil. In the original description, the author considered it somewhat similar to Hyla parkeri Gaige and allied species, but also similar to some dendrobatid frogs. Bertha Lutz (1973) placed H. parkeri and some other species (namely H. lindneri Müller & Hellmich, and H. madeirae Bokermann) in the synonymy of H. fuscomarginata A. Lutz. While some authors followed this arrangement, others did not. In spite of the super cial external similarity of H. goinorum and H. fuscomarginata , Lutz (1973) considered them not closely related and maintained H. goinorum as a distinct species. This decision was unanimously followed by subsequent authors. No further information on this species has been published since its original description, with the exception of its change from Hyla Laurenti to Ololygon Fitzinger by Fouquette and Delahoussaye (1977) and then to Scinax Wagler by Duellman and Wiens (1992) (a change that also affected the other species mentioned herein).
