Abstract

BOOK REVIEW Itala, Das Neue Testament in altlateinischer Überlieferung. Nach den Handschriften herausgegeben von A. JÜLICHER, durchgesehen und zum Druck besorgt von W. MATZKOW und K. ALAND. II Marcus-Evangelium. Zweite verbesserte Auflage. Walter de Gruyter & Co., Berlin 1970. VIII/160 Seiten, gebd. DM 160. Of the four volumes with the text of the Gospels according to the Old- Latin text two have already been published in a definite edition by K. Variant readings in the Old-Latin manuscripts have been given based upon a Latin text composed by J ÜLICHER which has been labelled ltala", but which never existed and the principles of whose reconstruction nobody· y knows. However, textual critics will use this work as a tool to learn the variant readings in the Old-Latin text. And as such it is in its second edition a great improvement compared with the first one.
