Editorial

Editorial Editorial Welcome to the first edition of Worldviews: Environment, Culture, Religion! t As I write these words, some weeks before publication, it still seems hard to believe that soon the first edition of this journal will be in existence. The birthing of a new international journal - especially one like Worldviews: Environment, Culture, Religion bringing together as it does so many disparate individuals from such far-flung locations - must always be a difficult process. And such a process is, I imagine, always marked by doubts and debates about the nature and feasibility of the project being undertaken. In this respect, Worldviews: Environ- ment, Culture, Religion has been no exception. Yet despite such doubts and debates I - and the rest of the editorial team - remain convinced that a journal such as this has a valuable role to play in academic discussion about environment, culture and religion. We all believe that there is an academic need for a forum in which to explore the environmental understandings, perceptions, valuations and practices of a range of religious and cultural traditions. But we also feel that the exploration of environmental 'world views ' can provide more general, and much needed, insights http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Worldviews Brill
