His evidence, however, is rather scanty and for the most part based on a misinterpretation. Firstly, in Am. vii 14 Amos is said to be, except bdqer, also a bdles JiqemÎm, "a nipper of sykamore-figs". Can it be supposed that a man would be defined as a hepatoscoper and a gardener at the same time? And supposing that it is possible, what would be in such a case the from behind which Amos was taken by Yhwh ? Perhaps the
