Distributed by Harvard University Press, 1987, 1-598, numerous (but unlisted) Figures and Plates: Appendixes (2), Bibliography, Index, etc. This is a most sumptuous publication which, with its rich brown cabra bonded leather binding, heavy art paper throughout, its fine quality black and white illustrations and excellent colour plates, augurs well an important contribution to the steadily grow- ing list of repertories of ancient Chinese bronzes. In this respect it sets a standard of fine art printing which few catalogue compilers these inflationary days can hope to match. Rubbings of the decor of the Catalogue vessels are reproduced in many cases; so, too, those of kindred items (where available) in other sources (Mainland Chinese reports, other Catalogues, Museum holdings, etc.). Where the Catalogue vessels are in- scribed, inscription rubbings are reproduced along with those that tie-up one way or another in other vessels in other sources.
