CORRESPONDANCE A NOTE ON THE TA MING SHIII LU June 25, 1940 To the editor 7"vu>ig Pao Dear Sir: As you know, I am much interested in the Ming Shih Lu, and so was pleased to see the article about the holdings of Cam- bridge and Princeton in Pao XXXV, pp. 289-328. On the enclosed page I have gone one step farther, listing the holdings reported in several other places. In the first column is a summary of the Cambridge University report, taken from TP XXXY. The statistics of the second column are taken from the Cata- logue of rare books of the Imperial Household Library, Tokyo III Sl f1i: 0li Si The third is due to the Catalogue of the Kiangsu Provincial Library at N auking (191E4), section 9/35. The fourth comes from the Catalogue of rare books of Peking University (unda- ted), section .re, The last column reports on the best copy at the National Library of Peiping, as analysed by Li Chin-hua in the ch'ih chuan 8hu (Harvard-Yenching Institute Sin. Index ser., suppl. no. 3), by Chao Shih-wei in Shih-lu k'ao if , Fu Jr1Jl Hs?7ela C7?'A Y, nos. 1 and 2 (Dec. 1936), 4G-o1,
