CORRESPONDANCE. Department of Oriental Printed Books and Manuscripts British Museum. London : W. C. 6 Sept. 1911. To the Editors of the Touny Pao. Dear Sirs. I have just seen M. Pelliot's interesting letter to M. Chavannes, published in the July number of the Pao, in which he mentions the late Dr. Bnsliell's copy of the 1% jR'n<? 1?o2?c lou. This book was acquired by the British Museum two years ago, together with a number of other Chinese antiquarian works from Dr. Bushell's Library. This is how I have described the work in my provisional list of recent acquisitions: "A Collection of ancient inscriptions on bronze, deciphered and arranged according to the number of ,, characters in each, ranging from one to 497 characters. Originally compiled by j$ J'iu Slcila-fi·ra, a giaduate in the of Tao Kuang, and published with the Imperial lmprimatur under the direction of 1 ?icrzy I-,I*u)irl. 3 chÜan in 9 in 1 t'ao, 18ûû, 29.5 X 18 cm." There is no separate title-page, but title )fl Chiin ku lun (Dr. I3ushell's clreci for the third character must be a mistake) appears at the beginning of each c,laiicc?a and on the edge of each leaf.
