423 I add one last wish, with an eye on the possibility (in my con- viction by no means illusory) of a second edition of this important book. On the Bibliography the editor observes (p. 428): "I list (a) those collections of the fragments of Ennius' tragedies which have furthered in some measure the establishment and understanding of the text and (b) those editions of the sources which I have used in making my own collection. Work pertaining to particular tragedies or fragments is not listed here but cited where it has rele- vance". All this is perfectly right, but in this way one group of publications, viz, books and especially papers bearing upon general aspects and problems of Ennius' tragedies, is left out. For instance, I did not find anywhere in the edition a mention of two quite helpful papers by 1. Gualandri, viz, 'Problemi di stile enniano', Helikon 5 (1965 ) , 390-4Io, and 'Le componenti dello stile tragico di Ennio', Studi classici e orientali 14 (ig65), I00-IIg. LEIDEN, Cobetstraat 40 J. H. WASZINK DE NOVIS LIBRIS IUDICIA P. FRASSINETTI, Atellanae Fabulae (Poetarum Latinorum Reliquiae, Aetas Reipublicae, 6, 1). Romae in aedibus Athenaei, 1967. XXIV, 174
