Moma Hooker, Lady Margaret Professor of Divinity in the University of Cambridge, here presents the 1995 Shaffer Lectures (Yale) and the 1996 Smyth Lectures (Columbia), together with her late husband's 1993 Peake Memorial Lecture on "The Last Supper as Prophetic Drama." The book's focus is on the prophetic actions of Jesus, considered not as mere visual aids or acted parables, but as "dramatic presentations of the truth, an unveiling of what already exists in the divine intention" (p. 4). Since in the first chapter Hooker sets the prophetic actions of Jesus in a Jewish context, one must ask to what extent she has taken account of the DSS in setting the Jewish
