Introduction During the period under scrutiny, the European Court of Human Rights deliv- ered a number of important judgments. In this issue the following cases are dealt with: Salah Sheekh, Mayeka and Mitunga, Üner (Grand Chamber) and Sisojeva (Grand Chamber), D. v. Turkey, Saadi v. the UK, Bolat v. Russia and Walter v. Italy . Further, the views of the Human Rights Committee on Alzery v. Sweden is included. Th is time there is no section on “interesting bits and pieces” compiling diverse noteworthy aspects of case-law not fit for elaborate discussion. One consideration of the ECtHR however, on the burden of proof in asylum cases, deserves to be saved from oblivion: Ayegh v.
