This is the first volume to appear of a new I n d o - E u r o p e a n g r a m m a r which, we are told on the jacket, is to replace methodologically antiquated older works with a p r e s e n t a t i o n in accord with the findings of m o d e r n linguistics. The subjects treated in the present volume have already been extensively dealt with in two previous works by the same author, L'apophonie en indo-europden (Wroctaw, 1956, henceforth abbreviated Apoph.) and L'accentuation des langues indo-europdennes (2nd ed., Wroctaw, 1958, abbr. Acc.).
