Z U M AORIST VON D.RS V O R KARL HOFFMANN Erlangen In einer kurzen Mitteilung (,,Skt. ad.rdam: Gr. ga0~xov?"), IIJ, III, p. 205f., bespricht Kuiper die Aoristform dd.rdan ,,sic haben gesehen" und kommt aufgrund des Mantra-Belegs TS. IV 5,1,3, da die ParalMtexte dd.r~ran aufweisen, zu der Auffassung: ,,the hapax ad.r2an in TS. is no doubt an incidental secondary formation of the later Vedic language". Das irrtiimlich als Hapax bezeichnete a'dr~an ist aber auch sonst bezeugt, und zwar an den Prosastellen TS. VII 2,8,2.3.5; JB. II 261; III 188, die im Gegensatz zu dem Mantra-Beleg keinen Zweifel an der Sprachwirk- lichkeit der Form aufkommen lassen. Nach der normalen F.ntsprechung von (augmentiertem) Indikativ und (unaugmentiertem) Injunktiv verbiirgt der Inj. d.rdan RV. VII 104,24; VIII 33,19 zudem einen Ind. ddr~an ftir die .rgvedische Zeit, so dab die Form also sowohl ihrer Existenz als auch ihrem Alter nach gesichert ist. Schlieglich ist dd!'~an die zu erwartende regul~ire Bildung im vedischen Paradigma. Wackernagel, Festgabe Jacobi, p. 16f. = Kl. Schr., I, p. 432, hat erkannt, dab drd urspriinglich als Wurzelaorist flektierte. Im RV. sind allerdings auger den Konjunktiven ddr~at, dardatha.h und den Medien ddardi, dd.rdran (-ram), dr~and- (d:~na-) nut die Injunktive dar~am
