Harvard Oriental Series, vol. 43, (Cambridge, Mass. 1958), 253 pp. [First critical edition of this widely used devotional text of modern Hinduism, based upon a collation of 52 MSS. Probably composed after 1000 A.D. Its doctrine, much simpler than that of current Tantric teaching, fits in fairly well with the late Yoga or Saiva Upanishads. Author unknown. There is a Critical Apparatus, an Index of Stanzas and an Index of Words. The last part (p. 159 If.) contains a description and inter- pretation of the beautiful reproductions of the paintings in two MSS].
